We struggle with boundaries because of the leaders that came before us.
We understand that being a leader comes with significant responsibility, which we take seriously.
We are finally realizing that our identities extend beyond just our work.
Welcome to That’s a Monday Me Problem.
I cried the first time I was passed over for a promotion.
I cried the 2nd time too and the 3rd, but then the 4th time came around and they picked me. And instead of promoting myself on up and out of there I stayed because I was picked and that was enough.
And that started a cycle of praying to be picked. Willing to stick it out in super toxic situations because “I'm up next,” I was always up next. 🥕🥕🥕
20-something-year-old me didn’t know that there were some rooms not meant for us even though we were in them. There are tables where I have had a seat but needed to pull back.
I learned early on that you can’t outwork a bad boss, a poor culture, or systems not created to support you.
So what do you do? You become the table. You become the room people want to be in. You take every experience, every tear you shed, and every moment that made you feel small, helpless, and less than you are, and you use it as fuel to create your own opportunities.
We have learned just as much from the good bosses as we have from the bad ones. We struggled with setting boundaries because our leaders had none. Working late nights and weekends, not taking your time off, and being mean girls was the standard set for us. Until, we decided to break the mold and do it our way.
With an iced coffee in hand and a '90s jam in our hearts!

Banana Espresso Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 ripe banana
1 shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee)
1-2 Medjool dates, pitted
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy of your choice)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Ice cubes (optional, for a chilled drink)
Instructions
Brew your shot of espresso and let it cool slightly. If you're using brewed coffee, make sure it's strong for the best flavor.
In a blender, combine the ripe banana, espresso, pitted dates, and milk. If you want a colder drink, add a few ice cubes.
Blend the mixture on high speed until it is creamy and smooth. You may need to scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure everything is well combined.
Taste your smoothie and adjust sweetness if needed. If it's not sweet enough, you can add more dates or a dash of sweetener of your choice.
Pour the banana espresso date smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately!
This is one of my fav recipes!! Enjoy
